Heya all!
Dance was fine, pretty gal is a slight disappointment. She seems to have no sense of rhythm, which makes dancing with her very stressful for me. Can't seem to ignore the music and just follow the action.
Other than that, she's still awesome gorgeous, and has great fashion sense.. *yum*
Oh well.. i suppose we can't all be perfect.
I'm guessing the rest are just about too busy (read: Lazy) to join in the fun here. Anyway this week has been slightly hectic, end of mth and end of year so lots of sales figures and budgets to fake..
On a different note, we had a tree lighting ceremony today, and all the staff had to stand around our ang mo boss and watch him turn on the christmas tree light switch. *rolls eyes*
Apparently they also received taka gift vouchers, which is probably why they were so excited about the whole tree lighting event. (me no have) *sob*
Then our boss tried to educate us on the origins of christmas.
Seriously i wonder how many people realise that modern day christmas celebrations have very little to do with the birth of Christ.
Apart from the date of celebration, going to church and singing hymns that is.
Fun christmas facts
1. The christmas tree is a christian adoptation of a pagan tradition, where they worship an evergreen tree during the winter solistice. (actually it was more a tradition of bringing life into the home during the deary days of winter.)
2. Santa Claus is a corruption of the Dutch name "Sinterklaas", which means simply Saint Nicholas, a Bishop of Myra (located in modern day Turkey) in the fourth century. Among other saintly attributes, he was noted for the care of children, generosity, and the giving of gifts.
3. The date 25th Dec also coincides with two other historical festivals, winter solistice which is an astronomical phenomena, and Dies Natalis Solis Invicti which means "the birthday of the unconquered Sun" a roman pagan holiday.
